Field Manager - Garry Templeton

Garry was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1st round of the 1974 amateur draft. He played sixteen seasons in the major leagues as a switch-hitting shortstop with the Cardinals, Padres, and Mets reaching the World Series in 1984. He was a three time major league All-Star during his career, garnered a pair of Silver Slugger Awards, led the National League in triples a record three straight years, and was the first player ever to have more than 100 hits from each side of the plate as he led the league with 211 in 1979. This feat has only been accomplished by one person since.

As a manager, Garry led the Anaheim Angels’ Class A club in Cedar Rapids in 1998 and progressed to the Erie AA club, and then the Edmonton and Salt Lake City AAA clubs. Garry managed the Sonora Surf Dawgs during the AWL’s inaugural 2007 season and also managed the Fullerton Flyers for the Golden Baseball League’s 2007 season.
