CHILL DROP AWL SEMI-FINAL GAME 13-3 TO END SEASON
February 29, 2008 (15-5)
After finishing the regular season with an Arizona Winter League best 15-4 record, the Palm Springs Chill came up short in the first round of the playoffs, dropping a lopsided 13-3 decision to the Blythe Heat at Palm Springs Stadium Friday night.
Former College of the Desert standout Mario Guilin limited the Chill offense to two unearned runs on two hits while striking out six over seven solid innings.
The Heat jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first when the Chill's starting pitcher Brian Campbell uncharacteristically struggled with his control. Campbell walked the Ryan Crespi to start the game and then promptly hit the next three batters. The Heat never looked back
Blythe will move on to the finals of the AWL championships tomorrow in Yuma.

February 20, 2008 (12-2)
The Palm Springs CHILL won their 12th consecutive game Wednesday night against the Yuma Scorpions 8-7. The CHILL would add 1 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th before Yuma would answer with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 5-1. Former POWER and current CHILL outfielder Johnny Coit led off the 7th inning with his league leading 4th triple of the season before Michael Thompson would drive him in for his first RBI of the game.
