Introducing Tundra, The Chill's New Mascot

Tundra's Story
As the Palm Springs Chill was being formed for thier inaugural
season a crucial question was posed; who is going to be the Chill's mascot? The POWER's beloved mascot, Rocky the Ram, was an obvious choice, but Rocky explained to the Chill/POWER staff that February was a prime feeding and family time for bighorn sheep in the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa Mountains. This meant he would be unable to attend every game and properly support the Chill.
Fortunately, as is always the case, Rocky the Ram came through with a fabulous idea. Rocky explained that his good friend, a blue abominable snowman (or Yeti), was a huge baseball fan. His friend, who Rocky just called the Blue Snow Man, lives high atop Mount San Jacinto and has known Rocky the Ram since we was a wee lil' sheep with a big love for baseball.

When Rocky told the Chill/POWER staff about his friend we thought he should have a proper name. We asked the "Blue Snow Man" what he wanted to be named and said, "What would you name me?" We all looked at each other and decided our fans should be the one to answer the question. So we held a mascot naming contest. The winner was four year old Luka Dobrilovic, and the winning name was Tundra!! Luka, already a POWER fan, is pictured at right with Tundra.
While Tundra loves baseball, he was never able to make it down to a POWER game because the summer sun was just a bit to bright. Rocky explained that he always had to give Tundra a post-game report after every POWER outing. Fortunately February is a great time of year for Tundra and he quickly agreed to become the Chill's mascot. Since Tundra said the sun was too bright to attend a POWER game, the Chill/POWER staff decided to pitch in and get Tundra a Christmas present. We got him a brand new pair of sunglasses that fit perfectly. Now you will see Tundra hangin' around the Valley any time of year.
Another thing that makes Tundra the perfect fit for the Chill is his laid back attitude and lifestyle. Tundra spends his days bouncing around the mountains and lounging by the peaceful mountain streams. Tundra truly knows how to chill.... What more could we ask for in a mascot?
